Newt's Playing
Card Museum, it's a dream.
A few years ago
Newt's Dad started collecting playing cards.
What started out as just a hobby has now turned into
a business. With over 2000 modern decks, about
a hand full of decks that are 30+ years old and now
a few decks of 100+ in his
personal collection this gives us a small starting
point for the museum. Along with these cards
we have began collecting items that go along with
playing cards such as old shufflers, dishes and
more. Over 1200 different decks of
playing cards are now being offered on
Newton's Novelties with more to come.
Thousands of folks visit Newton's Novelties each
week to check out our online "Playing Card
Superstore." Thousands more play games in
our online game area.
Short Term
Goal: Our playing card superstore
has plans of having over 2000 decks to offer by year
end.
Long Term
Goal: With the ongoing success of Newt's
Playing Card Superstore we hope to open up a small
museum highlighting some of the outstanding playing
cards we have been collecting. From art to
sports, cartoons to educational, playing cards cross
all barriers and fall into just about everyone's
life in some way. Our dream is to open a
museum for the family, encouraging folks in the
collecting and playing of playing cards.
It looks like our
plan is beginning to unfold. Our current plans
as of March 2003 consist of opening a showroom on
the Southeast side of Columbus, OH. In this
showroom we will blend in various items that we are
collecting for our museum. This will allow us
to continue to build as our collection grows.
The store is due to open July of this year.
