Wishful
Woods Playing Card Handmade Boxes
 Jack
and Karen Hazenstab’s 120 acre homestead in the
Allegheny Mountains provides them not only with
food, fuel and shelter: but also more Pennsylvania
hardwoods than they could ever use in creating their
Rock maple card cases.
Each
Wishful Woods card case begins as a tree harvested
in mid-winter and sawn into rough lumber on their
small band saw mill. The boards are stacked and
dried for two years, then planed and squared before
assembly. Pieces are made in a series with
production lasting from a few weeks to a month. The
sawdust chips and shavings are returned to the earth
as organic mulch for their garden, orchard, and
vineyard.
 Each
imaging is done by hand, with each color printed as
a separate process by skilled craftsmen.
The
signature of the maker and the series number on each
piece assures you quality and uniqueness inherent in
“Quality Crafted Fun”; handmade in the USA.
 One
deck of quality plastic coated playing cards and
detailed instructions on complete game rules are
enclosed in each box.
Just
slide back the finely dovetailed maple lid for hours
of card play and years of enjoyment.
